The Fly In Model Shop Lameroo 2010
Written by Crash

This is a reminder for all attending "The Fly In Hobby Shop Lameroo Scale Aerotow"  this year that the date is 10th 11th and 12th of September with flying begining around lunch time on the Friday.

Lameroo, for all of those that have attended before needs no introduction as it is a true weekend of fun!

We would again like to take this opportunity to thank Fly In Hobby Shop located in Mt Barker for their valued and continued support. In past years, Alexis, Hamish and Nathan have donated to the Lameroo weekend well over $2000.00 of prizes and giveaways. This is very generous in these interesting times where internet sales take their toll on the smaller hobby shops. "Fly In" are one of the few Hobby shops that still have time for your questions and needs. So I personally say a big thank you to the boys at Fly In Models Mt Barker. You can say thank you too, by just an email or phone call to www.flyinmodels.com.au or phone 08 83984555.

For those of you that have read, heard or been told about "The Fly In Hobby Shop Lameroo Scale Aerotow" it is an experience that you will hold dear to your heart until the following year.

Food to tantalise the senses, plenty of drink, fantastic company, shearing quarters accommodation, and the best flying and towing for at least a 1000 kilometres.

Friday night this year features a twist, with dinner at the Lameroo Hotel followed by (for those that feel like a treat ) a Country Music Event of epic proportions will be held at the Lameroo Community Hall. More details to follow!

Tugs a plenty will be on hand, with " The Blue Tug" which is yellow? (long story),  Ag Husky's, Pawnee's, Wilga's, Hots as well as a contingent of new Greenly Tugs from Mike Schnieder and Co as well as Dale Packham bringing his Piper Cub with I believe a 150cc power plant!just to name a few.

Sailplanes and gliders, just to numerous to mention.

Accommodation fees are very affordable and so are the meals.

Feel free to camp on site, stay in the shearers and homestead accommodation or partake in the Lameroo Motel accommodation if you feel like a really comfortable bed; but rest assured the showers are hot at all venues.

keep in mind that most people stay at the property and the best fun is all being together for the flying, the feasting and the chit chat, be it day or night.

Let me know if you are coming and I will send you all the other details you need to experience the event of this year.

"The Fly In Hobby Shop Lameroo Scale Aerotow" dont miss it again, you know you want to be there!

Kookaburra
Written by George Buzuleac

George Buzuleac says hello and shows us his latest project. Over to you George.

Some time ago I drew up plans of the 1/5 scale Kookaburra for Airborne Magazine. Details and dimensions were taken from the full sized version. The plan was photocopied and enlarged @ 125% for the 1/4 scale Longwing version.

Additional and more accurate scale detailing was added to the plans after rechecking against full sized Longwing Kookaburra based at Bacchus Marsh gliding field.

This model was constructed using sheets of 0.4mm and 0.6mm plywood and balsa blocks supplied by Harry Schneider after closing down the glider factory in Gawler during the 1990's. The spruce strips were provided by Martin Simons.
