I can remember one fantastic bit of flying when John G flew his Baby Ace between a row of pine trees and came out the otherside in one piece!

John said it was a skillful bit of flying and then said to me he was miles from them, however the pine tree needles stuck in the wings and cockpit told a different story.

Just one of many tales around the camp fire most nights at Swan Hill.

The Swan Hill  flying area is smooth air with clean approaches in most directions. Daytime to night time flying goes all day. Swan Hll has plenty of accommodation and camping at the field is also there with toilets and shower on site.

If you intend to motel it, we suggest you book now as Anzac Day weekend may see accommodation a little tight.

Plenty of tugs will be on hand with plenty of towing power.

Bring your sailplane, glider, tug, electric and even night flyer to Swan Hill 2010.

Will you be there?  For more details shoot John Copeland an email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it )  or me "Crash" at Crash55@internode,on.net.

It's really is a fun weekend,

 Cheers

Musger 19b Steinadler                                  Phil Dutton

Surfing the internet for scale sailplane plans I came across Vincent Besançon’s site Retroplane.net.fr. Amongst the numerous interesting planes was the Musger 19b Steinadler. An Austrian sailplane of the early 1950’s. Attracted to the model’s attractive lines, with a low set elliptical wing,

Jerilderie Scale Aerotow 2009
Written by Henryk Kobylanski

As the weekend promised, there was all sorts of weather over the Easter weekend at Jerilderie.

This year saw an impressive turnout with more large scale sailplanes than previous years. With some nice displays by mother nature over the weekend, the event was full of different flying conditions, but I am sure the locals were happy that we brought the rain!

With plenty of tugs and huge sky, I am sure no one went home not satisfied with the amount of flying they got in.

Thanks to Rod Watkins for organising this year's event and Dave Tamlin and the local Council for their great support of soaring in Jerilderie.

This message will not go out tonight but will be ready to go 'wireless' when I get to the airfield tomorrow morning. I am staying in a very comfortable pension in the village of Lüsse, about ten minutes walk from the airfield.
